DEFINITION:

 

In the world today we encounter different types of discrimination and one of them is discrimination at work. One such type of  discrimination or terror at work is  mobbing which has become a widespread issue. Victims of mobbing can suffer health problems and their quality of life decreases. The aim of our research  is to find out in which sector (public, private) mobbing most frequently occurs, who are usually the victims and who executes mobbing. In addition we will try to find out which methods, procedures and measures can help to solve or mitigate this problem.

 

 

 

RESEARCH QUESTIONS:

 

  1. What is mobbing?
  2. Where does mobbing most frequently occur?
  3. Why does mobbing occur?
  4. Who are the victims of mobbing?
  5. How is this issue regulated by the Slovene laws?
  6. What are the consequences of mobbing?
  7. How can  mobbing be prevented?
  8. Is this issue generally known?
  9. What does statistics say about this issue?
  10. What is the situation in Slovenia?

 

 

 

DISTRIBUTION OF TASKS:

 

Darija will focus on the first three research questions. Her main presentation point will be the introduction of mobbing.

Anita and Polona found some suitable literature, so they will work on the theory of our PBL project ( question 4-7 ). Selma suggested a little research in  

five different Slovene organizations. According to this, she will work on the last three questions.

And finally, Aleksandra will make a short review of our project and write a conclusion. She will also prepare some questions for the debate with our    

colleagues, which will be led by her and Darija.

ITEM 1:

 

Discussion: We distributed the tasks among us.

Decision: Darija and Aleksandra will search appropriate web sites dealing with our topic.

Anita and Polona will search for the literature available at the library. Selma will prepare the research

questions for our seminary work.

Discussion: We tried to determine which  research method would be the most effective considering

our project.

Decision: We all agreed that we should d a research in about five different Slovene organisations

 to find out to which extend mobbing is present there.

 

 

ITEM 3:

 

Discussion: Darija proposed that we should meet on Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

Decision: We decided to meet next Tuesday at 10 o'clock at FDV library.

ITEM 1:

 

Discussion: We talked about how to define our problem and came up with a definition.

Decision: We wrote a definition in our own words and corrected the previous published version.

Discussion: Selma brought some questionnaire samples on the basis of which we wrote our own questions.

Decision: Our questionnaire will comprise up to 10 questions which will be answered by employees in the public and the private sector.

Discussion: Each one of us reported about the literature she had found.

Decision: Considering the type our project we decided to focus on Internet sources.

         ITEM 1:

 

        Discussion: We wrote the introduction to our report and chapter subtitles with the help of the compiled literature and other sources. 

        Decision: We decided to state Leymann’s definition of mobbing in the introduction and to divide the report into 6 subchapters (stages of mobbing,

        reasons, perpetrators and victims, consequences, poll results, possible solutions).

 

        ITEM 2:

 

       Discussion: Selma brought the results of the poll that we had been carrying out in the last few days.

       Decision: We studied the results and made an analysis.

 

       ITEM 3:

 

       Discussion: We agreed that each of us should try to find a couple of terms that we would include in the glossary.

       Decision: We decided to publish the chosen words for the glossary on Saturday on the Wiki web page. 

 

       ITEM 4:

 

      Discussion: Polona suggested to have the next meeting already on Monday after the individual consultation with professor Vida Zorko.

      Decision: We all agreed with her suggestion.

 

 

      The next meeting will be held on Monday, 29th October at 1 p.m.

      Discussion: Darija suggested  predlagala that notes written by each group member should be introduced to other group members till Monday at the latest,    

      because only having this done we will be able to write the report connected in reasonable whole.  

      Decision:  We all agreed with her suggestion and decided that each group member will present her part on Monday at FDV library.   

  

 

      ITEM 3:

 

     Discussion: Polona said that we should have another meeting before handing in the report , so we can carefully read it again in case there are any

     mistakes.  

     Decision: We all agreed that this is a good idea and decided to do the last report reading before 10th November .

Hello 5women.com. You have completed the first two wiki steps. May I just suggest that you expand your title "Group members" to something like "Group members and their roles" because you have also included the information on what role each of you has.
