PROBLEM DEFINITION

Enterprises for training and employment of disabled persons are enterprises that offer professional training and employment to disabled persons who can not do professional training and find a job under the same conditions as other disabled persons because of their disability, their limited working abilities and their health. These enterprises work in accordance with business principles which are the same for all other business subjects. In crisis situations  the most affected persons are the ones which have a physical and/or mental disability or illness.

In this project we will try to determine how disabled persons are engaged in the labour market. Our main focus will be on the companies that employ only disabled persons.

 

BASIC RESEARCH QUESTIONS

 

1.     How is the employment of disabled persons regulated by law?

2.     Do the employers  fully respect these laws ?

3.     How did the employment of disabled persons change in the last 20 years?

4.     What do the statistics show - how many disabled persons are employed in enterprises for disabled persons in Slovenia?

5.     Did the number of enterprises for disabled persons increase in the past years and how many of these companies are there in Slovenia?

6.     In which industry are disabled persons mostly employed?

7.     What is the ratio between disabled persons employed by enterprises for disabled and those who are employed elsewhere?

8.     How will this crisis affect job-seeking disabled persons?

9.     How will the crisis affect the enterprises that employ only disabled persons?

10.   What are the possible solutions for the unemployed disabled persons?

FIRST AGENDA ITEM

Our meeting started with selecting the topic. After one hour we finally decided that our topic will be problems with unemployment and employment of different groups. Within this topic we would like to research employment of disabled people.

 

SECOND AGENDA ITEM

We were defining the problem of our research. We decided that we want to research the difficuties of disabled people when they try to find an appropriate job for them.

 

THIRD AGENDA ITEM

We all decided that each of us write 2-3 questions about our problem till the next meeting.

FIRST AGENDA ITEM

First we had to select our research questions. Everyone prepared 3 questions and then we selected the most important ones.

 

SECOND AGENDA ITEM

Finding the right literature was the most difficult part. As there is not a lot of literature about our topic, we did not have much choice but to go with what Anett and Sonja found on the internet.

 

THIRD AGENDA ITEM

We decided that each one of us finds at least 2 more literature sources till the next meeting.

Discussion: Each one of us picked two research questions to work on. Tinka chose questions 1 and 2, Nina 3 and 6, Anett 4 and 5, Urša 7 and 8, and Sonja chose question 9.

Decision: We decided that we will work together on the questionnaire for the interview. We will also work together on the last question (10).

Discussion: We finally found almost enough literature and and we started working on the questionnaire.

Decision: We will complete the questionare and try to contact at least one Enterprise for training and employment of disabled persons by the end of next week.

Discussion: We already found few words that we can add to our glossary.

Decision: By the end of the day we all try to find at least one more word that also can be added to glossary.

We all agreed that our next meeting will be on Wednesday, 27th of March.
