Problem of Communal waste in Ljubljansko Barje

Definition:

Problem of waste is one of the most burning issues in modern world. In our research we will focus on the communal waste in Ljubljansko Barje.

Waste management contains collection, transport, processing, recycling and disposal of waste in an effort to reduce their effects on human health or local aesthetics or amenity. A sub force in recent decades has been to reduce waste materials` affect on the natural world and the environment and to recover resources from them. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waste_management) But unfortunately dumping areas still effect people, especially those who live near by. Here we can not forget the negative effects that they have on animals and plants that are on the edge of extinction.

Questions:

1. What is the dimension of possibilities to recycle the waste in Ljubljana?

2. Which municipal communal companies haul waste to Barje?

3. Why has Ljubljansko Barje become dumping area for waste materials?

4. Are waste materials that are headed for Barje, additionally recycled before they are dropped off? If not, why?

5. For how many years, there will be enough space for dropping of waste?

6. What are the effects of dumping area on people that live near by?

7. What effects would extinction of certain animal and plant species have on ecosystem?

8. How much money is invested per year in recycling and who invests it?

9. What all can this amount of waste cause?

10. What can be done to improve this problem?
