Title: Human rights of disabled persons

Disability can be defined as " a lack of ability relative to the society standards or norms. " (Internet 1) Disability may involve physical impairment, chronic disease or a lack of physical mobility. It does not matter what kind of diability may a person have, it always affects his or her life. If we only look at physical mobility, we can see that people with many disabilities often must rely upon different devices, for example wheelchairs, to obtain mobility. (Internet 2)

In our project we will especially focus on physical disability, because we all find it important, since we meet physically disabeld person every day.

We come across persons with disabilities on an everyday basis where it is obvious their rights are being discriminated. Even though there are a lot of different institutions that are trying to assure disabled peoples rights get respected they are still not being treated equally. That is why we decided to take a closer look at this problem.

We will try to find out what kind of civil rights disabled persons have and how the government contributes to enforcement of their rights and achievement of their equality. We will define which institutions deal with such issues and how they work.

We will also focus on problems that disabled people face everyday on the international level, because we tend to focus on how human rights of the disabled people are practiced in some world-wide key organizations (UNO, ILO…).
