Minutes of the 1st group meeting

The first meeting was held on 9 November in Šumi.It lasted for 45 minutes. All the group members were present.

 

Issue 1: Decision about the topic of the research

Issue 2: Division of assigments, decision upon the deadline

 

Issue 1:

We talked about the topic for our resarch before our first meeting and after a great consideration decided for air and water pollution in Velenje.

 

Issue 2:

At our first meeting we discusted how we are going to devide assignments related to our topic and decided upon the deadline (15 November). We also decided we are going to compare Velenje with a city in a similar situation concerning air and water pollution, but is handling it differently. We planned a meeting with prof. Kos after 15 November.

 

Decisions:

 

1. Find useful sources - Vesna in Ljubljana, Jasmina in Celje and Velenje

2. Find existing research on water and air pollution in Velenje - Nina

3. Find a city to compare Velenje with - Petra

4. Deadline is Wednesday 15 November 2006

 

 

The second meeting will be held on 16 November in Šumi.

Minutes of the 2nd group meeting

 

The second meeting was held on 16 November in the library of the Faculty for social sciences. It lasted from 11.30 till 15.00. From 13.00 till 14.00 we had a meeting with prof. Kos. All the group members were present.

2. Discussion about our meeting with prof. Kos

3. Revision of our literature

4. 10 questions about our topic

 

Item 1:

We discussed about the work that each of us has done so far. Our tasks have not been changed.

 

Item 2:

Our meeting started at 11.30 and later at 13.00 we had a meeting with prof. Kos. We decided that we will ask him to give us some informations about which questions would be the best to reflect our research problem. We all agreed that we will form 10 research questions after our meeting with prof. Kos.

 

Item 3:

The day before Vesna and Petra went to NUK to find literature about ŠTTP. At our meeting we made an revision of our literature and collect all the useful informations.

 

 

 

Item 4:

After our meeting with Kos we went back to library to formulate 10 questions about our topic. Each of us had to write 5 questions which seemed important for our research project and afterwards we chose 10 of them which we considered as most relevant for our topic.

 

 

The next meeting will be held on 23.11.2006 at 1 P.M in the library.

Minutes of the 3rd group meeting

 

The meeting was held in the library on 23 November 2006.

All group members were present.

 

 

Agenda:

 

1. Action-item follow-up

2. Discussion about the survey

3. Devision of assignements

 

Item 1:

 

After revising our tasks and the results we decided that all of them were completed within the deadline.

 

Item 2:

 

Each of us suggested some questions among which we chose those that will be included in our survey.

 

Decision:

 

We are going to do four different surveys or interviews (depending on the subject):

with the workers of TEŠ (Termoelektrarna Šoštanj), with the students of a secondary school in Velenje, with farmers in the area and with an environmental activist whose main interest is to draw attention to the problem of TEŠ.

 

Item 3:

 

We have made some cotacts in TEŠ, in the school and with the activist before the meeting, however the problem that remained was the interview with farmers. Vesna and Petra volunteered to go to Velenje and do those interviews.

 

Decision:

 

Vesna and Petra will go to Velenje on Monday and do the interviews with the farmers, Nina will do the survey in the secondary school and Jasmina will do the survey with the workers in TEŠ.

 

Our next will be held on 30 November at 1 p.m. in the library.

Minutes of the 4th group meeting

 

Our 4th meeting was held on 30 November 2006 in Šumi. It lasted from 12 a.m. till 1 p.m. All group members were present.

Item 2: Devision of teoretical and practical parts related to our topic

 

Item 1:

 

We have completed all our assignments. Petra and Vesna have told us about the interview they did with the farmers in the area of Šoštanj, Jasmina has shown the survey she carried out in the factory TEŠ and Nina showed questions of the survey that she is going to distribute among students in Velenje. By the and of this week Petra and Vesna are going to contact Mr Rezman, an environmental activist, and interview him.

 

Item 2:

 

We have decided to organise the theoretical part on the basis of our individual practical work in the form of surveys and interviews. Therefore, we are going to analyse our data in pairs (Petra with Vesna and Nina with Jasmina) and contact each other by mail.
