Stereotypical ideas about distinctly male/female professions
The Stereotypes have a long tradition in our society and are result of social construction of reality. Stereotyping is the process of using a standardized impressions of a group of people to influence our preceptions of a particular idividual. It is a way of forming consitent impressions about other people by asuming that they all have certain common characteristic by virtue of their membership in some group or category, such us race, gender, professions, or social class( Bowditch, J.L., Buono, A. in Černigoj Sadar, 2011, 40).
In our asignment we will focus on stereotypes in labour market based on gender. For example there are still professions as military, aviation, politics and managament, where are employed less women than men, because professions like this are still considerd mainly male. In main we will write about women professions in top managemt about how are they treated in comparison with men in the same positions because of certain stereotyps.
