Discussion of issues

Issue 1: Searching the topic for the PBL

Petra: I was thinking that our topic should be social inequality.

Valter and Matej: We were thinking about racism but social inequality is better because it is a wider topic.

Ana and Deja: We were thinking about on-line communications. But we agree with Valter and Matej that social inequality is better.

Petra: Ok, then our topic will be social inequality.

Decision 1: Topic is SOCIAL INEQUALITY

Issue 2: Redefining the topic

Valter: Now that the topic social inequality has been chosen, we need to narrow down the things we will write about and how we will write about them.

Petra: I agree with Valter. I will write about exploitation of children. So if everybody agree, I will write about it.

Valter: I will write about wealth and poverty.

Ana:It seems to me that there is an important issue in sexism too. So I will write about that.

Deja: And I will write about LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people) social movement. I hope it is ok!

Matej: And I will write about racism.

Decision 2: All members have chosen separate issues within the topic.

Valter will write about wealth and poverty.

Ana will write about sexism.

Matej will write about racism.

Deja will write about LGBT movement.

Petra will write about exploitation of children.

SOCIAL INEQUALITY

Members of our group have chosen different topics, yet we have chosen similar research questions. Causes, consequences and the meaning of social inequalities for today's society are the main concerns of our topic. Some of the members will also bring up certain possible solutions to existing inequalities.

You are right, Valter. If you haven't preprared the presentation yet, then you will fill in the assessment forms after you have, and you will submit the assessment forms on the presentation day.

I have a question on the assessment form: "input in preparation of presentation" concerns the visual presentation we are yet to deliver? Then we can't assess this yet :)?

You are right, Valter. There seemed to be a problem with logging in with the name. You can see that my comment above came without my name although I typed it in as usual. I hope the problem is temporary.

If you are using a Slovene source or reading a book translated into Slovene, then you write the Slovene title in the list of references. You don't need to translate the title into English.

As regards anonymous editing, you have to log out and get to the log in screen again. There you first type in your name and email address and then log in with the password.

Good luck with finishing your report!

P.S. The commentator "Anonymous" above is Valter. I can't seem to fix this, even though I'm logged in...

A question for professor Zorko: When we write our references, must we translate the titles into English or can we have them in Slovenian? For example Giddens's "Tretja pot" or "Third way"?

Can I have 3 sentences, which are copied or have references during the text? I have written two pages. Is it to much?

No roles divided, no PBL problem yet. What is the reason for two missed deadlines?

Anonymous said

The assignment of dividing roles was not completed by October 27. Make sure you do not miss the other deadlines.
